Affordable Care Act Compliance Kit Released

Personnel Concepts today released a comprehensive Affordable Care Act Compliance Kit in preparation for the opening of the health insurance marketplaces on Oct. 1, which will necessitate all employers notifying their workforces of their rights regarding the new marketplaces.

The kit includes an easy-to-follow written guide, a notification poster that can be displayed, pads of forms that can be used to notify employees of the availability of the marketplaces, and a CD-ROM resource containing everything already mentioned and more.

"Many employers still don't realize that, regardless of the size of their workforce or whether they offer health insurance, they must inform their employees in writing by Oct. 1 of the opening of the health insurance marketplaces, where they can shop for insurance and even obtain subsidies," explained Robert Leland III, Personnel Concepts research director, in announcing the availability of the kit.

Though the employer "play or pay" mandate regarding health insurance has been delayed until 2015, the health insurance marketplaces (originally titled exchanges) are still set to go on Oct. 1. Some 16 states will operate their own marketplaces, and the federal government will singly or jointly operate exchanges for the other 34 states.
